IROQUOIS – Why deputy mayor? “Well to that I say, why not,” said James ‘Jim’ Locke, the newest name slated to be on the 2010 municipal election ballot in October.

Locke, who filed his nomination papers for the position of deputy mayor last Wednesday afternoon, said when he filed he figured he would be running against Del Jones in the election.

“I had no problem running against Del,” said Locke. However, when he discovered that Jones had re-filed nomination papers to seek election as mayor, he still had no problem with seeking the deputy mayor’s seat.
