Council defers acceptance of Iroquois petition
IROQUOIS – Retailers in the Iroquois Plaza, knowing that the parking configuration of the newly renovated plaza called for the elimination of angle parking, have been lobbying council to re-think the change.
January 19, Jim Mustard, on behalf of the Iroquois Business Group, submitted a petition which was made available to store customers.
Through the petition regarding angle parking, 900 signatures were collected.
“The wishes of our customers and yours (taxpayers) is to leave well enough alone,” said Mustard in the letter submitted to council with the petition.
“At this time I would ask you to take a professional approach to this very simple and common sense issue as the outcome is very detrimental to the success of our business community,” he added.
South Dundas council did not discuss the petition and deferred accepting it until a future meeting.
