Fire chief hire coming soon

WILLIAMSBURG – Four candidates were interviewed for the South Dundas fire chief position and an offer to the preferred candidate is coming soon.

South Dundas chief administrative officer Stephen McDonald confirmed Monday that the township will make an offer of employment this month.

The panel who interviewed the candidates included all members of council (with the exception of Del Jones, who could not participate due to work commitments), CAO McDonald and Elizabethtown-Kitley fire chief Jim Donovan. Donovan was brought in to provide some expertise in this hiring process.  According to McDonald,  Elizabethtown-Kitley is a municipality very similar to South Dundas.
