NHL Alumni and Law Enforcement All-stars facing off in Morrisburg

Thursday, February 11, 2010 - 19:00

MORRISBURG (NHL Alumni Assoc.) – NHL Alumni, led by hockey legends Doug Jarvis, Dan Daoust, Mark Napier, and many more will take it to the local Law Enforcement All-stars in an exciting and entertaining game to raise money for Special Olympics Ontario.

This entertaining game for the whole family includes an exciting skills competition, hilarious on-ice gags and some of the most highly profiled former players in the NHL, performing at Morrisburg Arena Feb., 19  at 7 p.m.

More importantly, proceeds support the Law Enforcement Torch Run in their efforts to provide sports to over 16,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities.  So, besides the excitement of the event, the show will benefit a worthy cause.

The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run (www.ontario.torchrun.org) is a community based, province-wide event that sees the “Flame of Hope” being carried right across Ontario by members of the Law Enforcement from communities right across the province. The objective of this and other events is to raise funds for and awareness of the Special Olympics movement in Ontario.

The NHL Alumni (www.nhlalumni.net) is a non-profit organization, which serves as a liaison for 28 local alumni groups.

The Association has adopted the motto of “Hockey’s Greatest Family”, providing programs and assistance for all retired NHL players, including career transition with the Life After Hockey Program.
